Job Description

Our partner is looking for a Data and BI Analyst / Engineer, to develop a top-down predictive scenario analysis tool using Microsoft’s Power BI tool and support the development of NLP data pipelines and analytics on top of these. You will be working directly with stakeholders in the business teams from our partner’s affiliates across the globe, in an Agile delivery mode. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and visualisation and be able to effectively translate complex data sets into clear and actionable insights. You will play a key role by working closely with the clients and product management to identify the use cases where external or internal data insights can make an impact and improve business decision-making.

Responsibilities / Key accountabilities:

  • Implement and manage PowerBI reports, including data integration, visualization, and analysis
  • Work collaboratively to design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and tabular models
  • Contribute to different initiatives involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis by leveraging a variety of statistical techniques
  • Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
  • Identify patterns, build models, test, and improve predictive algorithms that increase our understanding of data trends and identify opportunities to improve our products and services
  • Work together with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand and support their needs
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvements in data quality, data visualization and data reporting

Skills and experience:

  • Degree in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or other related fields with advanced coursework in statistics
  • Experience in design, implementation, and operation of BI solutions (min. 3 years)
  • Strong background in data analysis and visualisation
  • Well versed in Power BI Development (DAX, SQL, Power Query, Data Flows, Visualizations, Report Builder, Security) and data modeling, in addition to analysis
  • Experience with statistical modelling techniques (e.g. linear regression, logistic regression, GLM), forecasting and predictive modelling
  • Working knowledge in one or more statistical programming languages (e.g. Python, R)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in addition to a flexible and solution oriented personality
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, can effectively interface and interact with team and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical mindset and logical thinking capability; strong QC mindset
  • Demonstrates advisory capacity, creativity, critical thinking, and attention to detail

Highly Desirable

  • Experience with financial services reporting, financial risk management data, regulatory reporting data or financial submissions
  • Familiarity with big data platforms (e.g. BigQuery, Spark, Databricks, NEO4J GDS) is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Object webi
  • Experience with cloud deployments of Power BI, workspace sharing during development and the Power BI licensing model
  • Interest in Causal and Graph Analytics
  • Familiarity with ETLs/ELT processes and tools
  • Interest and ability to transfer knowledge to more junior team members
