We asked Réka to tell us a few things about herself, what she did before she got to Human Direct, and also a little about how she reached us and why she decided that IT recruitment is the right path for her. Here’s what she had to say.

Tell us something about yourself. Who are you, Réka?

Hi, everyone reading the blog! My name is Réka, I moved to Cluj-Napoca in 2009 for my studies. After I got my Bachelors degree in Education at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Babeș-Bolyai University in 2012, I started working as a kindergarten teacher right away. But somehow I always knew this would be only temporary and that I’m meant for something else.

So, in the summer of 2017 I enrolled at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Complementary Computer Science master studies with the intention to learn something new, because I like challenges. And here I am now, combining my background in psychology (my right brain) with computer science (my left brain).

Other things I can say about me is that I love bike riding, this being my means of getting around in the city. I try to spend my free time with loved ones and I love going out to see movies, concerts, the theater, I love to sing, and do a bunch of creative stuff, fixing and overhauling things when the case be.

How did you find us and why did you apply for this job?

This is indeed a fun story. I found out about Human Direct and the open position, from the founder, Erika Kósa, who contacted me to enroll her daughter in my kindergarten class. I told her about me wanting to change professions soon, so she offered her help in finding me a job in IT. Soon enough she introduced me to the world of IT recruiting and I immediately felt this was a good choice for me. Daring, but the right way to go. I figured it’s a good transition before trying programming, and maybe it would suit me more than writing code.

How did you find the job interviews and how long did the whole hiring process take?

The interviews were very on point, I found out a lot from my colleagues in a very short time and they called me in for an interview shortly after the first phone calls. I received an offer the very next day and I immediately accepted it.

How was your first day or week at Human Direct?

The team was very welcoming, and I had lots of very nice surprises on the first day and the next two weeks actually. The atmosphere here is completely different than what I was used to before in the public system, it’s much nicer to be here, I look forward to coming to work every day. The team is very helpful and supportive, they offer guidance in everything, I would like to thank them for all their patience and help so far, and I hope we will make many funny, happy memories here at Human Direct.

What would you like to develop and/or better at yourself, both personally as well as professionally from this job?

I would like to deepen my knowledge in psychology, to better understand other people and myself, to be able to grow as a person and as an IT recruiter. I would also like to get to know the technologies out there, so I can choose the IT area that I will consider later on.

What is the coolest thing you’ve done so far in your life?

I designed and decorated the interior of my kindergarten class from 0, the results were very good, the children loved it. I'm very proud of this.

Tell us one thing about yourself that you’re very proud of.

Back, when I was a student, I lost my phone on the way to a volunteering job in Germany, so I couldn’t call my friend to come and get me in Würzburg, and even though I didn’t know the place and don’t really speak the language I figured out a way to get to my destination.

Do you have a final word for us to wrap it up?

In Human Direct we trust.

We hope that you’ve got to know Réka a bit better after this short interview, she is a wonderful trooper with loads of positive energy, patience and eagerness to learn and grow. So we want to thank you, Réka for this! And especially for trusting in us!

Once again we welcome Réka aboard Human Direct and we hope that you’ll be a part of our team for many more years to come!
