Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the network operations center staff
- Oversee the hiring process to ensure the brightest talent is coming in
- Ensure proper 24 x 7 x 365 staff coverage
- Ensure proper training of the NOC staff
- Ensure standard operating procedures are developed, maintained, and executed
- Ensure the continuous availability of all services
- Managing, coordinating, and communicating all network maintenance
- Identify areas for improvement within the NOC environment and recommend enhancements for implementation
- Manage and maintain communication with all carrier partner NOCs and account management teams
Must Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of network operations experience with at least 3 years in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment
- 2+ years of NOC management experience
- Strong process and documentation background
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong background and understanding of voice and data protocols
- Experience with managing and monitoring a multi-site enterprise environment
- Proven ability to multi-task and work within a fast paced environment
- Good understanding and experience with Linux/Unix platform system administration
Additional Experience:
- Prior experience managing the NOC for an ISP, data center, or a hosting service provider is preferred
- Experience with a scripting language is a plus
- Database experience (MySQL/MSSQL) is a plus
- Strong UNIX/Linux administration skills is a plus
- Windows administration skills is a plus
- Data center experience is a plus
- Experience with a VoIP platform and familiarity with SIP protocol is a plus
- Experience with a SOX compliant environment is a plus
