About the role
Partenerul nostru is looking for a Java Technical Lead to design and maintain Java-based backend applications and microservices, while guiding and growing the engineering team around them.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable solutions: develop and maintain Java-based backend applications and microservices with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Deliver high-quality code: implement applications following best practices in clean code, testing and performance optimisation.
- Support modern deployment practices: work closely with DevOps to containerise and deploy applications and integrate CI/CD pipelines.
- Leverage event-driven architecture: use events to build robust, asynchronous systems that support scalability and decoupled services.
- Optimise data interactions: design and maintain efficient relational database integrations that ensure data integrity and system responsiveness.
- Contribute to strong engineering standards: engage in architectural discussions, perform code reviews and promote best practices.
- Leverage AI code companions: use intelligent development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality standards.
- Mentor and grow the team: guide engineers through mentoring, coaching, onboarding and knowledge sharing, creating a safe and collaborative working environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development.
- Good knowledge of Java 17 and associated patterns: SOLID principles, design patterns, and layered or ports-and-adapters architecture.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate and REST web services.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Oracle DB, GitLab and Kubernetes or similar.
- Hands-on experience with unit testing tools such as JUnit, JMeter and ArchUnit.
- Regular and responsible use of AI tools to improve productivity and quality of outcomes, including structuring effective prompts and critically validating outputs.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including debugging and source control.
- Strong communication and consulting skills: client interaction, pre-sales support, solution design, estimations and building trust.
- Advanced English language skills.
