Our partner is a global logistics company, offering transport and related services by land, sea, rail and air. We particularly focus on cost-efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly transport. With an annual turnover of more than 677 million euros, our partner is one of the largest transport companies in Europe, with offices in 26 countries across Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia, employing around 1700 employees in total.

Like any larger transport company, our partner takes advantage of robust IT systems that specialize in certain domains. Some of these are being maintained and developed by 3rd party vendors while others are internal solutions. The team you will be a part of focuses on developing a Customer Portal (Service Web) whose main purpose is to facilitate the communication between the company’s IT systems and combine their core features into a user-friendly web portal where customers (and employees) can perform all main actions necessary themselves, such as booking sea-freights, order container deliveries, etc.

Today the web portal is immensely being relied on by our partner's customers and the development team strives to use mature, stable development frameworks, all to provide competitive software performance, eliminate the risk of software failure and ensure scalability for future developments. The team practices continuous development which enables an agile, modernized software environment where business needs can on an ongoing basis be solved swiftly.

For you to succeed, you need to have a solid software engineering background, both in front- and back-end development.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and developing end-to-end fully scalable websites.
  • Implementing and documenting stable web APIs which are relied on by both internal software teams and/or 3rd parties.
  • Implementing professional web designs and delivering UIs that attract users.
  • Dealing with ad hoc requirements and/or issues with web products your team is responsible for.

  • You adapt easily to a new technical stack and you respect the team’s goal of framework simplicity, i.e. to achieve efficient future software maintenance.

Education and experience

  • Computer Science or similar.
  • Proven work experience with object-oriented programming in a large-scale web application setup.
  • Transport / Logistics industry experience is a plus.

Knowledge and skills

Back-end Programming Languages and Frameworks

  • Excellent object-oriented programming skills.
  • Knowledge of software security, such as basic principles of JWT, HTTPS, and authentication.
  • Good knowledge of a RESTful infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET.
  • DevOps experience for Azure is considered a big plus

Front-end / Markup Programming Languages and Frameworks

  • Good knowledge of ReactJS (experience with Redux is a plus).
  • Knowledge of Angular and/or AngularJS is a plus.

DB Query Languages

  • Knowledge of DB query languages such as Oracle SQL and MSSQL.

Continuous Development

  • Excellent knowledge of Git.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure and experience with CI / CD setup (experience with Microsoft Azure is a plus).
  • Experience and willingness to work in an agile continuous development environment.
  • Understanding SCRUM / Kanban Agile methodology.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
