Consulting Mission
As a PHP Software Engineer with our partner, you’ll be working in an agile environment on developing and improving features using technologies such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, React, Mysql, Git. You will work closely with other front-end engineers, backend engineers and testers in order to implement changes to our partner’s user interface according to specifications and complying to best practices.
Our partner is looking for a PHP Developer who is dedicated to the craft, has the sense of ownership and writes code that they are proud of and can hit the ground running.
A PHP Developer that writes clean, fast code to a high standard, in a timely and scalable way that improves the code-base of our products in meaningful ways.
You will be a part of a full-stack creative team that is responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development from the initial specification, through to developing, testing and launching.
Responsibilities
- Be able to follow specifications
- Interact with our stakeholders and product manager
- Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Follow industry best practices
- Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary
- Be able to write technical documentation
- Write “clean”, well-designed code to blend in with the rest of the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with PHP and a relevant framework (Symfony, Laravel)
- Excellent knowledge of OOP principles, SOLID design, knows how to recognize and apply design patterns
- Strong MySQL knowledge (table design, complex query creation, best practices, optimization)
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX etc
- Good knowledge of relational databases (Mysql)
- Experience in working with Git
- Experience in common third-party APIs (Google, Facebook, eBay etc)
- Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas
Would be a plus
- A good understanding of React is highly appreciated
- Experience in working with a CMS (WordPress, Contentful, etc)
- Experience with AWS ecosystem is a plus
- Experience with Docker, Vagrant, Kubernetes
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Experience with NoSql databases (e.g.: MongoDB, Dynamo, Cassandra)
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
