Main IT Events in Cluj-Napoca | Fall 2018

We’re in full autumn season and, while some are cozily tucked enjoying the chill vibes with pumpkin spice and everything nice, others are ready to get out there and conquer the world. At least career wise.

The reason is that fall of 2018 brings exciting events to our city, for the IT peeps mainly. Some of these IT events we’re quite hipe about, because we’re going to be there. And we hope to meet you there and get to know each other. Other events seem to be very cool and worth the time.

Without further ado, we bring to you the main IT events in Cluj of this fall and we hope you join them too, as we do. And we made a rhyme for you. Or at least we tried to. :)

# 1 The IT Career Fair Cluj

When: 9 - 10th of November 2018 (starting 10:00 am)Where: Sala Polivalentă Cluj

In the second weekend of November 2018, Cluj-Napoca will host the main IT career event the city has to offer. We’re talking about the IT Career Fair’s 12th edition, that will bring together roughly 3.500 candidates and 40 IT companies or IT recruiting companies, such as Human Direct here.

Yes, this is one of the events we will partake in and we’re super-excited about it. We love to meet new people in the IT field and network with IT specialists and potential candidates. The IT career fair is the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in IT jobs in Cluj and prospects to see what the local market has to offer and where things are heading.There will be seminars and fun challenges that everyone is invited to.

If you’ll make it to the fair, we welcome you to our stand to chat and get to know each other better. We even have a contest for you and the prize is an Oculus Go. # 2 IT Days 2018: #BuildingTomorrow

When: 20 - 21st of November (starting 9:00 am)Where: Students’ Cultural House, Cluj-Napoca

The 6th edition of IT Days Conference will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, on November 20th and 21st in Cluj-Napoca. The theme of this year’s conference is programming and IT changing the world as we know it and building tomorrow. There will be very interesting subject debates and a special guest from abroad, Sir John Dermot Turing, Alan Turing’s nephew. Alan Turing is considered the forefather of informatics and AI theoretician.

Other speakers that will take the stand are senior programmer and speaker Mark Seemann, Peter Lawrey, the founder of Chronicle Software, Peter Leeson and many other interesting IT professionals. We’re telling you, it’s going to be a very enriching experience for everyone attending.

# 3 VOXXED Days Cluj-Napoca 2018

When: 21 - 22nd of November (starting 8:30 am)Where: Grand Hotel Italia, Cluj-Napoca

The community conference by developers for developers, VOXXED Days Cluj-Napoca 2018 is another cool tech event that will happen in Cluj this fall. The fact that it overlaps with IT Days 2018 event makes it harder for devops and programmers and all the IT people of Cluj to decide between the two. Maybe attend both? IT hasn’t gone that far to “virtually” clone people, but they say that if you think you can do it you’re right! #motivational

Jokes aside, VOXXED Days Romania is part of the largest Devoxx concept, that gathers together around 17.000 developers every year at their events all over the world. This is the events’ second edition at Cluj-Napoca and the organizers have invited some very interesting speakers you’ll get to meet there.

A few names worth mentioning are Venkat Subramaniam, Founder of Agile Developer Inc., Krzysztof Kudrynski and Blazej Kubiakk, Expert Research and Software Engineers at TomTom as well as Anton Arhipov, Java Champion and Developer Advocate at JetBrains and Vlad Mihalcea, Java Champion & Hibernate Developer Advocate at Red Hat.

There will be workshops as well on the 2nd day of the event, and the price of the ticket includes breakfast, lunch and two coffee breaks.

If you were thinking that the rainy and boring autumn days are here, you’re probably right. They may be rainy and gloomy, but not at all boring. Not for the IT people of Cluj-Napoca.

There are plenty interesting IT events to attend this fall in our city and we’re quite excited about them. Especially about the IT Career Fair 2018 where we will be present with a Human Direct stand.
