Job Description

We are seeking a visionary AI Research Scientist to drive long-term innovation in machine learning and computer vision. This role is focused on identifying new methodologies and algorithms that can be applied to our AI-driven drone platforms and shaping the future of our AI capabilities. You will be part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary AI team working across research, perception, autonomy, and product delivery.

Location: Brașov, Romania (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct exploratory research and feasibility studies on novel computer vision and machine learning techniques
  

• Develop proofs-of-concept and prototypes to validate new ideas
  

• Publish research findings and represent Orbotix at conferences
  

• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate research into development roadmaps
  

Requirements

• Strong theoretical background in machine learning and computer vision
  

• Proven track record of academic or industrial research
  

• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch)
  

• Experience working in Linux-based development environments
  

• Excellent written and spoken English
