Ideal Candidate

Our partner needs a strong FPGA engineer in their office in Cluj-Napoca, someone with experience in the full FPGA design lifecycle including the hardware architecture, RTL coding, simulation, system integration, hardware validation, verification, implementation, and testing.

Education

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related subject

Responsibilities

  • Designing the architecture and creating FPGA designs in a hardware description language, producing design documents, performing timing analysis and floor planning, and validating and analyzing designs for errors and efficiency
  • Researching, designing, and developing custom hardware for its trading teams

Required Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Verilog, VHDL, and System Verilog
  • Proficiency with a full simulator such as ModelSim
  • Ability to transition between hardware languages and abstraction layers on an as-needed basis and demonstrate excellence throughout
  • Excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently or as part of a team
  • Hands-on FPGA development successes, taking ownership of significant systems and subsystems

Required Experience

  • 5+ years experience in FPGA design, RTL experience (System Verilog/Verilog/VHDL)
  • Familiarity with Secure IP and experience evaluating vendor IP cores
  • Ethernet experience (10G or higher), network protocols
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry is a plus
