Our partner works on one of the most appreciated interactive News Apps available on the App Store (rating of 4.9 out of 5).
They offer a customized stream of bite-sized, shareable stories with real-time recommendations that get better as people use it: everything happening in the world and trending on the web – from sports to celebrities, in the Times and on Twitter. No sign-ups, no social graph, and no access to users online activity necessary.
They are now looking for a Senior/Lead iOS Engineer to join their team. This person will have a lot of ownership and need to be able to do advanced work very quickly and independently.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership for developing a performant mobile app that pushes the limits of what’s possible on iOS
- Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to build a next-generation user experience centered around streaming video
- Develop complex animations and transitions
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs
- Move fast while maintaining highly performant, production-quality code
- Help recruit and mentor a world-class mobile engineering team
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience developing mobile applications on iOS
- BS/BA degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science (or equivalent years of relevant experience)
- Strong CS fundamentals, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Expertise in Swift, and preferably in Objective-C as well
- Mastery of the iOS SDK and deep knowledge of native iOS frameworks
- Appreciation for pixel-perfect design and the ability to implement it
- Strong desire to collaborate across engineering and design teams
- A passion for cutting-edge mobile experiences
