The Team:Manage Sample team is a part of the TEM Solutions R&D organization. This team is committed to deliver innovative technologies related to Sample Manipulation (TEM stages are state of the art in all their aspects), Sample Transfer (loading and transport under room and cryogenic temperature conditions), Sample & System Conditioning (active vibration isolation systems, cryogenic systems for cooling), Sample Stimulation (electrical, heating) etc. Next to this the team is responsible for the dynamic, mechatronic and thermal competences covering all parts of the TEM Solutions R&D organization.Our team is distributed with members in Brno, Czech Republic and Eindhoven, Netherlands.The Position:As a Module Architect, you become part of group of enthusiastic professionals that strive to continuously improve their next generation TEM products and workflows. You will work closely together with project managers, architects and technical specialists from various technical backgrounds for optimal multi-functional alignment. You combine focus, technical vision and the ability to overview several complex projects in a cross-disciplinary setting. You will get a large influence not only at the start of the project by guiding conceptual designs and setting specifications but also by monitoring projects and motivating & inspiring engineers.You will report into the sample positioning competence owner.Specific responsibilities:• Creation of project definitions in a team with the product manager, project leader and specialists.• Translation of marketing requirements into function / module requirements.• Setup of experiments to investigate detailed behavior of designs or their implementation.• Lead the design teams implementing the specifications.• Optimization of module level performance (quality, throughput, cost, …) during the initial phase of product development.• Work towards cost down and obsolescence removal and prevention.• Responsible for maintaining up to date technical approach in a broad range of innovative principles and practices relevant to the module architecture.The Requirements:• Master’s degree or equivalent. You have professional experience in high tech, electromechanics constructions.• Experienced as a technical lead role with proven record of hardware- as well as software-focused design activities.• Advanced knowledge in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical engineering, system/ motion control or a combination that shows the relevant expertise.• Domain knowledge of Electron Microscopes (or other relevant complex high-tech systems), combined with theoretical studies. Being recognized as an authority in his/her field.• Capable of working on diverse and broad problems where analysis of a situation or data requires an evaluation of variable factors.• Able to act independently by using judgment and thinking within broadly defined policies and objectives within the area of expertise/knowledge under general direction.• Capable of frequent and productive interactions with sr. management, supervisors and peers, on matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.• Competent in creating the right working climate because major accountabilities are achieved through collaboration with colleagues.• Advisor to scientists, engineers, project leaders, and senior managers, to resolve problems to meet schedules.• Proficient in English and preferably strong in local language.The successful candidate will possess the following proficiencies:• Strong analytical and strong conceptual thinking skills.• Broad cross-disciplinary design experience• Abstraction skills• Clear and open communication• VisionHow do we motivate you:• Work with us and be an important part of a company developing cutting-edge technologies for a scientific customers worldwide.• We have modern work environment including relax zones, power yoga lectures, gym, outside playground and massages in the building.
