We are searching for a PHP Technical Lead. You will help us drive the technical success of a project for one of our biggest clients, by providing directions to the technical team and suggestions for the architectural approach to meet the product vision.
Responsibilities:
● Comfortable with doing a good amount of project management- keeping thetrains running on time, keeping colleagues unblocked, and raising concerns tomanagement when they are stuck.● Mentor developers and pair-program with them to ensure they are growing theirtechnical and social skills.● Comfortable with coding and individual work on a project (hands-on team lead).This might also mean picking up slack to fill in gaps to round out a project.● Organize and facilitate productive feedback and feedback sessions withstakeholders.● Align the overall project goals with the execution of the sprint goals. Bring upconflicts in a productive manner. Commit to the product vision once set.● If the team has a misalignment, spend time alongside the software architects,business analysts, or product owners to guide them towards productivity.● Define and execute the delivery plan for specific features or internal systemmaintenance/upgrade.● Actively participate in Engineering efforts that help streamline the experience ofthe Product development.● Comfortable with shifting priorities when necessary.
Strive to reduce technical debt while communicating with teammates about anylarger refactor.● When tasks are large, work on scoping work down into smaller, actionable parts.● Structure code in a manner that anticipates the type of scale and maintenancerequired for the scope of the work. Strive for legible and maintainable code inauthoring and reviewing pull requests.● Troubleshoot performance issues and build scalable solutions.● Familiar with agile methodology and proficiency in participating in the standupand handling tasks workflow.
Requirements
Degree or certification in a related field with 5+ years of experience in advancedweb programming and 2+ years in a leadership role● Experience managing and coaching teams of 5 or more developers● Excellent knowledge of PHP● Experiences with Symfony/Laravel frameworks is a plus● Knowledge of RDBMS (MySQL/PostgreSQL), Redis, queues● Experience with Azure is a plus● Excellent knowledge of OOP design principles● Strong understanding of the server-side software, scalability, performance, andreliability aspects● Demonstrated problem solving, analytic, and troubleshooting skills● Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English required
