Our partner is a leading multi-channel e-commerce software solution that helps merchants sell wherever buyers are shopping. The company enables merchants to sell through online marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, Amazon Handmade and Etsy, comparison shopping engines, a SEO-friendly web store and harness the power of social commerce, with an integrated app to sell on Facebook. Merchants use the our partner's platform to list products, and manage inventory, orders, and customers.
We are looking for a Database Administrator to maintain and improve the company database systems. This position will work closely with development, systems engineering and the data analytics teams. Must have strong communication skills with a desire to work in a team atmosphere.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Database administration including installation, configuration, security, troubleshoot/fix problems, backup/restore process, data recovery
- Automating administrative tasks
- Database capacity forecasting and planning
- Database performance tuning and optimization
- Working with development to design and optimize the application database support, including query tuning and optimization
- Database monitoring, availability for on-call support
Skills and Requirements:
- Good experience managing MySQL databases
- Good experience with Linux systems and scripting
- Experience with database design
- Experience with query optimization
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills
Optional/Pluses:
- Experience with NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience with MSSQL and Windows systems
- Knowledge of version-control systems
- Optional, but highly desired, experience working with cross-functional US based teams
