Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
Skills
- Profound understanding of Ruby and OOP in general
- Rails
- Git / Github / Git flow
- Solid understanding of REST
- Familiarity with other Ruby web frameworks, e.g. Sinatra, Grape, etc.
- AWS (ECS, EC2, Lambda, Secrets Manager, etc.)
- Experience with OODB
- Experience with scaled applications
- Understanding of the Service Oriented Architecture approach and microservices
- DevOps (understanding production deployment, continuous integration, etc.)
- API creation experience (for SPAs, mobile, other servers)
- Practical and security-oriented approach
Nice to have
- Other back-end languages and frameworks, e.g. Python, JavaScript, node, etc.
- Ability to write concise and effective tests
- Gems published / Open Source involvement
