Intermediate .NET Developer

They are currently looking for an Intermediate .NET Developer to join their Big Data team in Cluj-Napoca.

Their headquarters is located in Norway (Oslo), and they have offices in Romania (Cluj-Napoca), Vietnam (Da Nang) and Spain (Madrid).

About the team:

The Big Data team creates cost-effective software which is used to enhance user experience across company portals by providing market-related insights and providing the best content that they have to search engines for indexing. Their tools churn more than 170 million ads daily in order to extract market related statistics, to build machine learning models that are able to provide fair price predictions for cars, to keep their multi-terabyte data warehouse in sync and to keep search engines updated.

In order to efficiently use the hardware, they often develop multi-threaded routines, deal with concurrency issues, optimise memory usage, optimise networking and write SQL queries and code to access other types of storage and API.

Their main super-power is the ability to find or write algorithms that are suited for the job at hand, while keeping costs in check, in order to keep the users of their portals well informed.

Technologies you will be working with:

• C# with .NET Core;
• Google BigQuery;
• Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL;

• Kubernetes, Docker, Microsoft Azure VMs;
• Google Analytics;
• ML.NET.

They are looking for a .NET Developer with:

• 3 years+ of relevant experience;
• Ability to provide the best technical solution possible given cost and time constraint;
• Ability to assess risky situations early on and to communicate them in a timely manner to co-workers and stakeholders that may be impacted;
• Determination to deliver high quality software;
• Experience in writing distributed, high-volume services and know how to deploy and keep them running in production;
• Experience in working with big data volumes and various data processing technologies;
• A good command of statistical methods for analyzing data and algorithmic for solving challenging problems;
• A good command and understanding of SQL and document databases;
• A good understanding of internationalisation and text processing challenges.

Key responsibilities:

• Architect, develop and operate C# (.NET Core based) micro-services that are able to respond in milliseconds to received requests;
• Work with other engineers to maintain their data pipeline and batch data processing services;
• Provide solutions for various text analysis challenges;
• Work with the SEO team to ensure that the information used for SEO purposes matches the requirements and adapt it when required (heavy T-SQL usage);
• Perform code reviews for code that falls under the responsibility of the team you’re assigned to.
