You’ll be a member of the SteelConnect Engineering team in Cluj-Napoca, helping to drive innovative and creative solutions for this strategically important offering to our SMB and Enterprise customers. As an individual contributor you are ambitious and driven, you are excited about the opportunity to work with smart people on complex challenges. You’re a natural team player, inquisitive and enjoy dissecting and tackling hard problems (the more challenging the better).
You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality embedded Linux software features in C and/or C++. You have a solid understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, 802.1q etc. Your experience with agile software development, unit testing, peer code review and continuous integration will be a huge asset on the team.
Required Skills
- Solid experience with C and/or C++ in an embedded Linux environment.
- Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
- Experience interfacing with hardware design and development
- Understanding of networking, TCP/IP and related protocols. Layer 2 vs Layer 3 related knowledge is ideal (STP, 802.1q, OSPF, BGP etc.)
- Deep understanding of Linux system architecture
- Familiar with GNU tool-chain, makefiles and shell scripting
- Comfortable using Git
